Want to know what the next big thing in fashion will be? Look directly above this sentence and there's your answer. One needn't be Anna Wintour to realise that these buttoned pants are going to be a big commercial success. They are cute, classic and the ballet flats create an overall girlish ballet-look. It is somewhat surprising that Karl Lagerfeld has incorporated so many pants into his collection, but then again, his pre-fall 2011 collection signalled a definite trend towards layering dresses over pants. Another variation of these pants are the sheer and embroidered pants/leggings, absolutely gorgeous.  The only problem is that they definitely will not suit every body type, they will ideally suit the tall and fairly slim or the petite. I was a little disturbed however, at how thin some of the models are, especially as even the stretch jeans are baggy on them. Chanel could go a long way by promoting a healthier body image, because let's all admit, there are not many people in this world with thighs the same width as their calves or ankles. Overall, I loved this collection, as you can probably tell with how many looks I have chosen, it was nearly impossible to exclude pieces. I would highly recommend that you look at the entire collection here at Style.com

John Galliano has designed a masterpiece of a couture collection. It may not be "ready-to-wear" but it is most definitely "ready-to-wear" on the red carpet. His designs are lavish, innovative (within the bounds of couture), original, wearable and very fresh. I especially love the dress Ginta Lapina wears with the white "pencil scratches" one would see in a fashion illustration. They highlight the dress beautifully and give a classic look a modern edge. The very cinched waist of Maria Kashleva's dress is also different; one of the most extreme illusory appearances of a narrow waist I have ever seen. I cannot praise Galliano's work highly enough. Well done indeed.

Snejana Onopka was the perfect fit for the Isabel Marant Spring 2011 campaign. Why? Because she epitomises that 60s style French chic that we all know and love, the black winged eyeliner also helps. Karim Sadli was the photographer and boy does he sure know how to take a beautiful black and white photograph. We are truly lucky to have this go-to label for casual and stylish womenswear. It may not be highly original but the Isabel Marant label continues to deliver what it does best.

Who knew beige could look so good? Donna Karan's Spring 2011 advertising campaign, photographed by the legendary Patrick Demarchelier, showcases what the label does best: fluid designs that enhance the female form. It certainly helps that two of the best models going around, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Karlie Kloss, are involved. I love everything about this collection and campaign, it is elegant, sensuous and demure. Click on the photos for a closer look at the details.

Peter Copping has created an outstanding pre-Fall collection for Nina Ricci. What springs to mind immediately is the intricate lace joined seamlessly with the black opaque fabric to create a beautifully constructed sheer illusion. Also note, in the first picture, the return of the knitted skirt and cardigan, with the buttoning down the centre. Copping's cinched drapery, precise cuts, beautiful tonal combinations and especially textural fabric makes this collection a triumph. I very much look forward to what he will present this Fall. I need not make any further comment as I'm sure this collection speaks for itself.
