Chloé celebrated its 60th anniversary this Spring by sticking to their long-held design values of clean, sleek and feminine simplicity whilst giving it a modern edge. White, black, navy, pastels and metallics made the cut with some beautifully placed sheer fabric and loose fitting but structured designs. This label is one of my favourites as it combines elegance and a touch of the feminine with absolute comfort. Their clothes are flattering and can boost the most unconfident woman. As I'm sure you would agree, Chloé has celebrated this special occasion with a classic and memorable collection.

Whilst this collection is certainly nothing ground-breaking in terms of aesthetic or design, Clare Waight Keller, the new designer behind Chloé delivered a consistently good quality collection. It stayed close to the Chloé relaxed, feminine and fresh style that the brand has so carefully tried to maintain since the Phoebe Philo years. What sets this collection apart is its use of bright colour, pleating, drapery, sheer fabric, layering and luxuriously loose yet flattering pants. Also a special mention to the beauty team who made faux au naturale look effortlessly beautiful. I hope that in the future Keller can push the boundaries a little further and forge a strong and individual path for herself at Chloé, she certainly has the design skills to pull it off. Well done on an elegant beginning.

This season Chloé there were a few surprises. As with the Fall 2010 RTW Collection there was still a range of beige, brown and white tones but this time, there was barely any bright additional colours. Also interesting was a return to ballet flats and the ballerina, floaty, feminine look - which has been present at quite a few shows now - Dolce & Gabbana and Lanvin spring to mind. Overall, this was a minimalist look - following a trend which has emerged over the last few seasons. It's refreshing to see such a return to inventive but simple drapery and purity of colour/tone.
